Good ND Grad filters, suggestions please!

Mon Oct 12, 2009, 5:36 PM
Howdy everyone! I have some questions for YOU!
What kind of ND Graduated do you use, or would suggest? I've been wanting to get one for a while, and I've finally racked up the money to buy a pretty decent one. I've got about $60 stored up, and that's about as high as I'll go. I'd need a 55mm size, so any suggestions? Anything would be helpful!

Fall is here in Pennsylvania! Speckles of color are forming in the hills, and I've got lots of places I'd like to get to this October. This is my favorite time of year, breaking the jackets and scarves out, raking leaves & bonfires with friends are just too much fun. So hang in tight, pictures will be coming in soon!

Best in Show

Sat Aug 15, 2009, 11:48 AM
Hey everyone! I thought I'd let you know how my pictures did at the fairs I entered. I entered two so far (my town's is late in September), and did pretty well. For the first fair, I competed in the youth category. I swept the Best in Shows (Color, B/W, Altered), got seven firsts (other than those), six seconds, one third and a fifth. The second fair I competed in the fifteen & over category with adults, and got one third and two honorable mentions (basically fourth). Here's the pictures that won! Best in Show (Altered) - [link] ; Best in Show (Color) - [link] ; Best in Show (B/W, sorry, photo is color on dA) - [link] ; Third (B/W Scenic) - [link] .
I've really been enjoying my job, I work with some fantastic people. Earning some money has been wonderful too! It makes you appreciate the days you don't have anything to do. School starts soon too, next Monday. I'll be glad to be getting back into a regular schedule, but it's school, so gross. haha. That's life!

Thanks, Jobs, Photoshoots & Fairs

Sun Jul 26, 2009, 5:58 PM
First matter of business. While I was gone this past week I had 68 favs. Thanks everyone! I don't have time to thank everyone as I typically do. Sorry!
Second matter of business. Yours truly has a job! After searching forever for a job, I found one at the Chick-fi-la opening about 15 minutes from my house. My boss is a christian homeschool dad and a really nice guy. I'm very excited. Starting this week!
Third matter of business. I've been busy busy busy shooting. I had a photoshoot with my cousin, quick one with another family member, and I'm having one with a friend soon too. I've decided I need portrait practice. So thus, I'm doing portraits.
Fourth matter of business. This upcoming August & September I'll be entering two all-county fairs, and the local fair. If I win anything I'll have that up sometime. I'm competing against adults in one of the all-county fairs though.
Fifth matter of business. I've actually been pretty pleased with my pictures recently. Has anyone noticed improvement, or is it just pride getting to my head?

I have a flickr now! I made it a while ago, actually. [link]
Plus if you haven't checked out my blog 'A Picture A Day', you should! It's a year-long project I've been doing since January. [link]
Have a good one..& keep your stick on the ice.

Cab of #90 & Helicopter

Sun May 31, 2009, 5:55 PM
I had quite the day yesterday. Our town was having our annual Covered Bridge Festival, and they brought a small Helicopter in and were giving rides around the valley for $20. For that little, I consented and went up. It was fantastic, I hope they do it again next year. Then we headed over to Strasburg to catch the 6:00 train coming back. We managed to catch it at three spots to shoot, Cherry Hill, Red Caboose Motel, and coming into the Station past the J Tower. Me and my sister did the photographing, and the engineer remembered us (we unintentionally were both wearing bright red Phillies shirts). So when they were filling her up at the water tower he invited us up into the Cab. It was pretty awesome, and I think it left both my brother and dad jealous. (Got some picture, they'll be up soon) So I guess I beat the odds by being a teenage girl who likes steam engines, wonderful. Ah well, alls well that ends well.

Soooo

Wed Mar 25, 2009, 6:07 PM
I can legally cross the US border alonee! Whoopdedoo. haha. I turned 15 today. My friends gave me a cake/brownie thing. It was pretty awesome. I've been crazy into birding lately. I'll stay outside for hours watching them, it's quite intriguing. Soon the spring hawk watch starts, I can't wait to get up on the mountain hiking and bird watching again. My birthday present is going to Washington DC. I'm hopefully going to go with my Dad during the Cherry Blossom festival. Fortunately homeschoolers can take off in the middle of the week!
I haven't updated in almost two months..sorry! My life isn't too exciting. Have a dandy day!
